Ambition: To be a mermaid
When Kendall’s on a longboard she has grace, style and stacks of different swimmers. She took surf lessons with Soulrider during school sport (is that why she’s so good?) and is now a die hard surfer. If she has enough money she will be overseas searching for waves and adventure. If you ever want an honest answer she is the person to seek -don’t say we didn’t warn you. Kendall escaped our chilly winter and chased waves, shopped for bargains and searched for her soul mate in Indonesia. She acheived all 3 judging by her style, wardrobe and smile.

Graeme John Scruby
Age: 36
Experience: 25 years surfing
Job: Owner, chief surf instructor, all round nice guy and pay master (so we have to say that)
Worst vice: Having to eat all the time
Ambition: To own the ultimate quiver
Graeme never liked conventional jobs and decided to start Soulrider Surfschool to justify all the time he spent at the beach surfing. Little did he know that he would have to work hard (so he tells us). Graeme has grown up in and around the ocean and has spent the last 25 yrs chasing waves all over the world and refuses to grow up. He has a great ability to relate to all types of people- young, old, tall or short. Don’t get him started on surfboard talk as you’ll need all day to hear it!

Ellena McTavish
Age: 19
Experience: 10 years surfing
Job: Surf instructor and shortboard champion
Worst vice: Eating our food.... and her food... and those people over there's food....
Ambition: Surf forever
Ellena is the smart one because she goes to uni! Despite her constant study (who are we kidding!) her surfing program has not deteriorated. This chicka never frowns and is the happiest person you’ll ever meet. Any board is skilfully mastered with this surf diva and she's like an energiser bunny – she never runs out. You're in for a good time if Ellena's around. However Ellena does have a warning label attached - Don't have food within 10 paces of me because i'm a seagull!

Sanchee Barnes
Age: 23
Experience: 4 years surfing
Job: Admin queen, surf instructor and cruisey until the computer goes down and/or the printer runs out of ink.
Worst vice: Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate…..
Ambition: ... um...I would love to have one of those
When Sanchee was overseas the biggest question was ‘do you surf’ and ‘how do you say your name’. So she learnt to surf and answered to Sandy. You won’t see her on the world circuit because she is flat out running the office and surfing when the sun shines. She wishes someone would design swimmers that actually fit, technology that actually works and instruction books that are ledgable. She also wishes she could go back to the Maldives and score the same waves over... and over... and over...

Kalian Barnes
Age: 18
Experience: 6 years surfing
Job: Surf Instructor but should run away and join the circus
Worst vice: Being a teenager!
Ambition: To go with the flow
Kalian is a clown with a coastal attitude. He can do handstands on demand and gets around on a uni cycle - he even has an off road one. He is almost takes the cake for being the most dedicated (3am early surf sessions etc) however this is tainted by his partial use of...the body board! Why lay when you can stand? - head stand in Kalians case. Without a care in the world Kalian will cruise up for a surf and cruise home again on his one wheel contraption.

Bella Haantjens
Age: 20
Experience: 6 years surfing
Job: Surf Instructor and a film extra for super, super tall female parts
Worst vice: Being too nice
Ambition: To carry on the surfing tradition in the family
If niceness was measured by body height then Bella will always shine (this coming from the pack of hobbits she works with... wait what does that say about us?). When she surfs it's with grace and charm. Bella will never tell you that you look uncordinated or that the faceplant you just did looked hilarious. If you're vanity needs restoring Bellas your gal!

Beau Keegan
Age: 23
Experience: 10 years surfing
Job: Surf Instructor and a 'funny guy'
Worst vice: It's not appropriate for public viewing
Ambition: To charge bigger waves and to knock the old guys off their perch at Ulladulla Bommie.
If you see big surf and think 'no none would go out in that' think again ... because Beau would! No wave is too big in his world. Beau is always testing out a funny or joke or remark. Most of them deserve a chuckle or even a laugh, then there are other times where you have to smile and shake your head as you think... 'demented... why can't I be more like him?'.
